Hatha Yoga with Laura Marcus

I guide students to get to know their bodies better, feel more comfortable and calm in themselves, and gain courage and happiness.  My classes are Hatha Open level and suitable for all.

My classes are very much about building mind-body connection.
Students can expect a gentle and uplifting class that will stretch the body in every direction. I include chanting and breathing exercises in every class and create sequences which help students to grow in their practice class by class.

The emphasis is on staying present, awareness of how the body is feeling and moving, advancing flexibility and strength, and calming the body's internal systems. And my speciality is a deep relaxation at the end of class.
I would recommend my class to people looking to reconnect with their body and mind and build a strong foundation in their yoga practice, and those wanting a classical Indian style class with music and a friendly, intimate atmosphere.

Having completed over 500 hours of teacher training; Yoga Prema based in Bristol, Sivananda Vidya Yoga Peetham based in Kerala, and Yoga for the Special Child, based in the US.
I spent 2018 training and teaching at the MahaDevi Roberta Sumar Yoga Centre in Islington, the home for Yoga for the Special Child in the UK, studying under the creator of the method, Sonia Sumar and founder of the MahaDevi Centre, Denisa SriDevi Nenova.
I have also recently completed a 50+ hours yoga anatomy course with YogaLondon.

Laura teaches at Haelan Studio on:
Thursdays from 11.30am-1pm (Hatha Open Level)
Please contact Laura on 07904 327 527 or email laurajmarcus@yahoo.co.uk before attending your first class.
Your first class is free so you can see how you like it, and then you will have the option to sign up for further classes.

Please wear comfortable, stretchy clothes, and arrive with a little time before the start of the class. Yoga is also best practiced on an empty stomach so it's best not to eat much for three hours before.

Use the Crouch Hall Road entrance and press the Upper Studio buzzer.
