Abi Brazil BA Hons, CRM5, PRM, CNHC

I am passionate about the power of reflexology and how it can help relieve symptoms of many ailments as well as improve overall feelings of wellbeing. I am a Clinical Reflexologist, holding a Level 5 Mastership in Reflexology, the highest qualification available in the UK today. As a Clinical Reflexologist, I am trained to work with medical conditions as well as offering treatments focusing on pure relaxation. As part of my Mastership qualification I have specialist training in Pregnancy Reflexology (Pre and Post Natal), Fertility Reflexology and Reflexology for Palliative Care. I also hold a further qualification in Hot Stones Reflexology. I am fully insured, a member of Professional Reflexology organisation as well as the CNHC; the UK government backed voluntary regulator for complementary healthcare practitioners.
All treatments are tailored to the individual depending on your personal health and goals. As reflexology is a holistic therapy, whilst I may focus on the main reflexes appropriate for your personal health concerns, each treatment will strive to bring the whole body back to its natural balance. Throughout the treatment you should feel relaxed and may even fall asleep and at the end of the session I may offer you some homecare advice if appropriate. First treatments include a health and lifestyle consultation which adds around 15 mins to the appointment time. All information provided is kept in the strictest confidence.

Alistair Smith

Sound Healing

Alistair has been in love with music and the nature of sound from an early age. He uses his training and experience as a sound healer, together with that as a composer and musician to provide a unique therapeutic approach. With compassion, understanding and empathy, you will be attentively listened to in order to ascertain the best course of treatment for you. Each session is tailor made to your needs and intention using tuning forks, voice, singing bowls, gongs and pure therapeutic frequencies.

Sound Healing is a holistic therapy that can reach the heart of all issues. It simultaneously effects the body, emotions, mind and spirit, and can energetically clear, restructure, and align us into harmony and balance. It is a powerful catalyst for change and growth, elevating our being to a higher level of knowing, health and wellbeing.

Sound is the primal creative and structural force in the universe and through it we can experience a profound sense of belonging. It is the essence of harmony and balance.

Alistair qualified with the College of Sound Healing in 2014 and has attended training courses with leading figures in Sound Healing including Jill Purce, Nikki Slade, Fabian Maman, Simon Heather and Jenni Roditi. Amanda Garber

At times we all experience difficulties in our lives, for some these are clearly related to specific experiences or events and for others they may be more difficult to define. It may be something that you have recently become aware of or something that has been troubling you for some time. Whether it’s a thought, a feeling or a behaviour that you are struggling with, talking things through with someone who is impartial and non-judgemental can help people cope with life’s difficulties.
My approach to counselling and psychotherapy is person centred and humanistic. This means that I work in a non-directive and non-judgemental way. In a comfortable and secure environment the space is yours to decide what you want to focus on at your own pace. As trust grows I believe that you will choose to speak about things which are more sensitive to you and explore your feelings or whatever issues are causing distress.
Seeing a therapist means talking with someone in a confidential, reflective and caring space. This can help you to understand your situation and emotions more fully, helping you to feel happier and stronger with a greater sense of control.
I believe that being able to gain insight facilitates greater self-awareness, understanding and enhances self-esteem and confidence which promotes an improved quality of life.
If after contact has been made either by phone or email, we decide that it would be helpful to meet, the next stage of the process will be an initial consultation where we can discuss your needs and how we can work together.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and psychotherapy which means I subscribe and adhere to their code of ethics.
If you have any further queries please do feel free to contact me either by phone or email
Initial consultation: £45.00
Hourly Sessions: £55.00

Angela Pentland

  • Reiki
  • Personal Coaching
  • Wellbeing Guide

Passionate about helping people achieve balance and harmony in their lives whilst still reaching for
their personal goals and ambitions, I’m a qualified Reiki Practitioner with the Reiki Academy London,
Certified Lifestyle & Performance Coach with The Coaching Academy with additional training in
Holistic & Mindful practices and a Wellbeing Guide. When I have sessions with you I will focus on the
greater over-all health and wellbeing of your life, your inner peace, healing and will guide you where necessary to bring clarity and understanding of how better to maximise your everyday personal and professional life. My Reiki and Wellbeing practice is the culmination of a 16 year journey through pregnancy, childbirth, fitness, nutrition, a destructive illness, epression, recovery and acceptance, living and learning how to thrive with a chronic health condition, a failed 14 year relationship, raising a child, long-term studying, spiritualism, meditation and mindfulness, self development and everyday life. In 2014 I began Coaching and found my natural healing and spiritual path into Reiki in 2016. From the minute Reiki came into my life it has transformed my mental endurance, given me such emotional clarity and peace and reduced any ailments that may trouble me. I am blessed that I am able to share these amazing benefits and many more with clients and with the community through my charity work with Mind in Haringey and Crisis UK.
Originating in Japan, Reiki has been used as a healing system since the late 1930’s. It is a powerful, non-intrusive, complementary therapy done either hands-on or hands-off which uses no manipulation, pressure or massage, instead the practitioners hands are placed lightly on or just
above the body and the Reiki energy flows through your energy channels - chakras, meridians and nadis, into and around your body. With Reiki, there are four different levels at which healing and wholing are achieved: Physical, Emotional, Mental and Spiritual. In many cases, the levels are
interconnected. For Reiki, this often means that there is more behind a symptom than meets the eye and the recipients need to stay open to healing on more than one level.
If you are ready and willing to do something about where you are in life and what you are or are not achieving, Coaching can help you discover that you already have the answers, ideas, knowledge and solutions within you, it will enable you to take charge of your life, maximise your potential and move forward with confidence and without fear or if you need an impartial view, free of judgement or criticism, advice or guidance, my Wellbeing Service will provide you with the most holistic and
practical guidance that will meet your needs and enhance your life.
I have real-life experience, knowledge and passion to support all that I do and look forward to healing, helping and guiding you.

Gemma Cox MAR

gemma portraitMy interest in complementary therapies began at an early age after suffering from severe eczema as a child. From the age of 16 I began attending beginners courses in different therapies, but it wasn’t until I benefited personally from the healing power of Reflexology after a challenging period in my late 20s that I knew it was the right discipline for me.

I trained at the London College of Reflexology with the renowned Reflexology practitioner, Louise Keet.
Continuing to keep my practice up to date, I have completed a
postgraduate specialist course in Fertility, Pregnancy and Post-Natal Reflexology plus a further course in ‘Advanced Reflexology Techniques‘ (ART).

The first treatment lasts one and a half hours and includes a consultation where we will discuss your current condition, medical history, diet and lifestyle. Subsequent treatments last approximately one hour. You can have as many treatments as you feel comfortable with.

Reflexology is a very individual treatment that works holistically. My treatments are informal, informative and confidential. You can expect to feel relaxed during the treatment. After a treatment your tension should be reduced and you may feel more grounded. You might also notice yourself sleeping better and find your mood and sense of wellbeing improving.

I am a fully qualified, insured and dedicated member of the Association of Reflexologists (AOR).

Jo Sorotos

I have always had a love of movement and, paradoxically, the peace and stillness that can be found through movement, be it a quality yoga class, hiking or swimming in the sea.
Equally I am fascinated and reassured by the philosophical approach that runs throughout the Asian therapies of the union and interplay of 'opposites' through which balance is found, expressed simply in the Chinese concept of Yin-Yang – an over-used and abused concept - but still a very important one. This paradigm is fundamentally non-judgemental, anti-hierarchical and holistic – all qualities we are in urgent need of in this world imho.
Thai Yoga Massage reflects all of this. It is a no-nonsense type of therapy – very practical and grounded, and not only very effective but also beautiful. In terms of the balance of 'opposites', it can be (according to what is needed for the individual) - energising and restorative / gentle and strong / exhilarating and grounding / releasing and soothing / dynamic and still. These are the reasons why I originally wanted to train in it, and continue to love practising it.
I trained to Advanced Practitioner level in Thai Yoga Massage from 2001-2004 with one of the UK's foremost teachers, at the School of Thai Yoga Massage (accredited by the Complementary Therapists Association). I have been practising full-time since then, and also continue to consolidate and develop my knowledge, both of anatomy & physiology (gaining a distinction in an OU Human Biology course in 2014) and of related therapies & practices.
As well as clinic work, I practice in theatres, working with leading London orchestras and other performers. I also treat adults with autism and a range of learning disabilities.
I practice Iyengar Yoga, Qigong and attempt to meditate daily.
I have a degree in Communications and Sociology, and had a previous career in arts project management, and festival production.

Jo Sorotos practices Thai Yoga Massage at the Haelan Centre on the 3rd Friday of the month from 4-7pm. Other appointments are available by arrangement.

Julia Peters

There is increasing recognition today that psychological problems are an inevitable part of life, rather than a symptom of failure or not coping. Whilst clearly antidepressants and other drugs have their place, most of us prefer to understand what's making us so unhappy, so that we can take constructive steps to change things for the better. Consequently more and more people are turning to therapy and finding what a valuable resource it can be.

Existential psychotherapy takes the position that anxiety is an inevitable part of life, and that fears are best dealt with when we gain the courage to honestly face up to them. As your therapist I can be a powerful ally on this -facing up to journey-. We can look together, without judgement, to find out what's gone wrong and equipped with new insights, a path forward will start to emerge.

Counselling is of course of value at any stage of life. I find myself working with many people who are having difficulties with forming or maintaining relationships. It's natural to long for closeness and intimacy with a partner, or even simply real friends, but sadly unhelpful patterns or habits may sabotage our efforts and keep us lonely and isolated.

As well as being a qualified homeopath for many years, I also work with groups and individuals using a systemic approach. This combination of knowledge and understanding enables me to be more balanced and effective as a therapist. I can offer you homeopathic remedies, at no extra charge, to help you physically and emotionally to deal with life's challenges. In addition, the systemic lens allows me to appreciate that your free will is often undermined and limited by the powerful family forces around you.

Charges are: £50 per session.

To book an appointment or for more information please contact Julia directly on 0208 340 2158 or via email julia4therapy@btinternet.com or visit her website - www.counsellingn8.co.uk

Kate Allardyce(MRSS, BCST)

kate portraitKate is passionate about supporting people on their journey to better health, fulfilment, ease and flow in their life.
She has been studying energy-based medicine, including shiatsu, craniosacral therapy and qi gong, over the last twelve years. Her approach is to work with the natural self-repair and self-healing capacity of the person, which is fundamentally empowering and transformational.

Kate qualified as a shiatsu practitioner with the British School of Shiatsu-Do London in 2003 after three years of training and has since continued with regular post-graduate training with leading teachers in the field to develop her clinical skills. Kate also qualified as a Craniosacral Therapist after a further two years training with the Craniosacral Therapy Education Trust in 2010.

Kate also practices Qi Gong, which is a Chinese self-healing energy-based practice. Qi Gong supports a deeper connection to qi (life force) and quality of therapeutic touch. Kate has trained with leading Qi Gong Masters from China over the last 10 years and practices the ‘Hua Gong’ tradition with the Chinese Heritage Institute. Kate has developed her own unique approach to bodywork and adapts this to suit the needs of the person - whether this be to help with an acute physical injury or pain, more long-term health condition, emotional and mental wellbeing, support during pregnancy and post-child birth or to support someone through a stressful period in their life. Energy-based bodywork can help on many different levels through helping to recover our life force to bring deep healing on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level.

Kate Allardyce practices Shiatsu and Cranio Sacral Therapy at the Haelan Clinic on Thursdays from 5.30pm - 8.30pm.
Other appointments are available upon request.

Charges are: £50 per 1 hour session

Kayte Brimacombe

I am a fully qualified integrative transpersonal psychotherapist and an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have a diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy (2003) from C.C.P.E. (Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education, Beauchamp Lodge, Warwick Crescent, London W26NE) and an M.A. in Transpersonal Counselling and Psychotherapy (De Montfort university 2004).
Transpersonal psychotherapy is an integrative counselling and psychotherapeutic approach which includes behaviourism, psychodynamic and humanistic psychologies but also acknowledges the spiritual potential of human beings. I have a particular interest in spiritual direction.

My training allows me to meet your individual needs by drawing on a range of therapeutic perspectives: person-centred and humanistic, existential, psychodynamic, family and systemic, cognitive-behavioural (CBT), mindfulness and transpersonal psychotherapy. I also use creative imagination and dreamwork.

I work with a wide range of difficulties such as relationship issues, bereavement (recent and in the past), addictive behaviours, low self-esteem, feelings of worthlessness and emptiness. Often people come to therapy experiencing low-grade depression and anxiety and a desire to search for meaning. Healing begins when we acknowledge that we need to truly give ourselves space to reflect on our life and take the first step on that journey.

What to expect

In the first session we will look at what brings you to therapy at this time in your life.  You will have the opportunity to ask me about the process and to think about what you hope to gain.
You can then think about whether you want to continue and if I am the right therapist for you. I offer short-term and long-term therapy, although the latter is recommended if you want to explore long-standing issues.

Sessions are weekly and last for 50 minutes. I charge £55 a session.

I see clients in Crouch End (N8) on Wednesday evenings and in the City, daytime and evenings. For more information or to book a session please contact me by email or visit my website.

To book an appointment please contact Kayte directly via email

I moved from Italy to London two years ago because I believe in the power of change and I was looking forward to starting a new important chapter of my life.
I've always believed that ever encounter, whether with a friend or a client, is a unique experience. As a therapist, I aspire to respect and deal with that uniqueness.
I came to massage therapies not because I want to “fix someone” but because I want to support the various needs of my clients in order for them to make effective changes. In my work as a massage therapist I try to address the person in a comprehensive way. There is a powerful communication between the mind and the body which I believe is essential. My role is to facilitate this process at every level and for every client.

Holistic massage and sport-remedial massage are two of the skills which enable me to understand how to assist clients. I like to tailor the massage for and with each individual client, working to relax the whole body, stretch the tight fascia and invigorate the muscle tone. Holistic massage is generally a full body treatment, however, if required, we will together agree to focus on a particular area. I am also trained in trigger point therapy, myofascial release and deep tissue massage.

Holistic massage:
relaxes taut muscles
aids lymphatic drainage
releases toxins
benefits the "whole" in many other positive ways

Physical and emotional stress can be reduced through therapeutic touch and a myriad of other restrictive problems can also be alleviated.
To further strengthen my holistic approach, I deliver life and leadership coaching in a range of situations which is complimentary to my work as a therapist. During my massage sessions I like to follow the client: the kind of touch, the pace and the depth of conversation are different in every situation.
Holistic massage benefits both me as the therapist and you as the client creating a unique partnership leading to a sense of physical and mental well-being.

1 hour holistic massage: £50

Other options and combinations are possible, please contact me for more information

Maggie O'Grady

  • Transcendental Meditation (TM)

Raised in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, by open-minded, experimental parents, a psychiatrist dad and a psychotherapist mum, Maggie's first introduction to yoga was as a child through her mother chanting 'om mani padme hum' and practicing yogasanas (yoga postures). Yoga postures became part of Maggie's own daily routine in 1993, whilst attending Hatha Yoga classes, during her Peace Corps training in Thies, Senegal, West Africa.
Maggie went on to enjoy a 20+ year career in International Development, including 10 years as CEO of a children's rights INGO before leaving her career to become an Executive Coach and Iyengar Yoga Teacher. The yogic path is a way of life for Maggie. She has been inspired deeply by the teachings of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, in which the 8 limbs of yoga are codified.  As well as yogasanas and pranayama, Maggie's yoga practice includes the more inward limbs of yoga including continuous study of yogic philosophy, chanting, focused attention to the present moment (pratyahara) and meditation.
Meditation has been an essential part of Maggie's daily practice for 12 years and has anchored her during the most difficult time of her life. For many years, she had practiced Insight (Vipasyana) and other forms of meditation, mainly rooted in the Buddhist tradition, before taking up Transcendental Meditation (TM). After the departure of her beloved husband, she knew she had to go deeper to find solace in the 'Self' and was drawn to TM, also because it had the same Vedic roots and Sanskrit tradition as Iyengar yoga. Her daily practice now feels much more integrated. She loves teaching TM with The Meditation Trust and passing on such a simple, effortless, yet infinitely powerful, technique. She sees the yogic path as a journey full of wonder and delight, and this enthusiasm is palpable in her teaching style.
Transcendental Meditation (TM) is uniquely simple, effortless and natural - a silent use of a mantra or sound which brings results more quickly and profoundly than effort or control. By allowing the mind the freedom to be still, the body gains very deep rest, and releases accumulated stress.

Maggie practices at the Haelan Centre on Saturdays. For information on upcoming courses please see here or email Maggie direct.

Michelle Austen-Marriott BA(Hons), BSc(Hons), LicAc, MBAcC

michelle portraitMichelle, a British Acupuncture Council member and a mother-of-two is very passionate in supporting couples trying to conceive.  She investigates every aspect of a woman’s health history and habits to determine which organs and meridians are out of balance, and then recommends a regimen of acupuncture, exercise, relaxation techniques and/or dietary changes to restore equilibrium to her body. When a woman’s body is restored to balance, the hormones needed for conception and pregnancy are produced the way nature intended.
Acupuncture offers a natural way to support your efforts to get pregnant. Acupuncture can improve your overall health and well-being, strengthen the organs and systems vital to reproduction, help to heal specific conditions that may affect your fertility (i.e. PCOS, Endometriosis) and even support Western-based reproductive technology such as IUI and IVF.
Traditional Chinese medicine describes the female reproductive system as a network of energy systems with complementary organs and hormonal responses. This network responds to stress, chemicals, lack of exercise, poor eating, and excess emotions, all of which can put the body off balance. Even a slight aberration can throw the entire system off so that it no longer functions smoothly. Yet, just as the body responds to negative influences, it also responds to gentle direction to return to balance.
One of the beauties of Eastern medicine is that there is no separation of mind, body, emotions and spirit, and acupuncture is based upon ministering to them all. Michelle believes this approach is more in alignment with the body’s own design. She also believes that because acupuncture focuses on restoring balance to the entire body, it can serve as a valuable adjunct to Western medical technology.
Michelle has been practising at the Haelan Clinic for over fifteen years and believes Acupuncture can provide you with a new source of health and hope in your quest to conceive and carry a healthy baby to term.

Michelle practices at the Haelan Clinic:
Sundays from 9am - 7pm; on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays 9.15am to 2.45pm, Tuesday & Thursday evenings 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Ad Hocs are available outside of these times, please ask Michelle.

'I had tried various self-help therapies to help alleviate my back problems and to increase my chance in getting pregnant but had no luck So when I saw Michelle's leaflet at my GP Surgery I thought I'd give it a go. Michelle was very reassuring & professional in her manner & set me on a course of weekly acupuncture & later prescribed herbs. She was always friendly and chatty towards me and I can now count her as a close ally. Her treatment did make me fall pregnant which I was ecstatic about. Post pregnancy I continued to seek further treatment and can say that acupuncture has really helped me and would definitely recommend it to others & with Michelle!'
Mina, Enfield

'Michelle is an absolute miracle worker and I cannot recommend her highly enough! I first saw Michelle when I was 13 weeks pregnant and had had a migraine for 5 days. I contacted her in desperation as I could not take my normal medication and alternative therapy was my only option. I have to admit that I wasn’t convinced of how effective acupuncture would be for my migraines. However Michelle worked her magic and immediately after the first session I felt a significant reduction in the level of pain. By the next day I had almost recovered and after a follow up session with Michelle I felt like a new person. I have suffered with migraines throughout my pregnancy and each time I have contacted Michelle immediately. She has cured all of them for me very quickly. I plan on seeing Michelle for treatment of any condition I face in the future. I feel very lucky to have found her and would not consider using anyone else!'
Leonie, Crouch End.

'I suffered from sinusitis for months it went from bad to worse no prescription nor over the counter drugs worked. Michelle saved my misery with some sessions of acupuncture I haven't had any recurrence as yet.'

Nico Thoemmes

  • Rolfing® Structural Integration

Rolfing® Structural Integration Is a unique process based system of bodywork therapy where the practitioner uses a slow, deep, yet sensitive style of touch to bring about profound changes in how the body feels and moves.
Many clients find it deeply relieving and the work can potentially resolve discomfort, release tension and alleviate pain. The work aims to restore flexibility and balance, and leave you feeling more comfortable in your body. The genius of the work rests on Dr. Rolf's insight that the body is more at ease and functions most effectively when its structure is balanced in gravity.

What is the Ten Series?
A Rolfing® series is a process that typically place typically over 10 sessions. Each session logically builds on the last, progressively opening the body's structure and potential for free and integrated movement. Sessions have specific goals and themes; for example session one aims to enhance your capacity to breathe fully, while session 2 aims to address the feet, legs and gait. Rolfing® addresses areas of the body that often get overlooked in other therapies, like the chest, jaw & stomach. Most sessions conclude with work on the neck and sacrum and some time at the end of the session moving and sensing the changes that may have occurred.

A few good reasons to try Rolfing®

1. You would like to have less tension & tightness and feel more comfortable in your body
2. You are stressed & find it difficult to relax properly.
3. You spend too much time sitting and interacting with technology and feel disconnected from your body.
4. You are on a fitness/well being mission and would like some skillful support
5. You would like to stabilize the gains you are making in psychotherapy/talking therapy
6. You have some unresolved chronic pain from an old injury.

Rolfing® Structural Integration

Massage Therapy

Nico trained as a Rolfer in 2013 following 7 years working as a massage therapist following a training in dance and somatic practices at the Laban Centre for contemporary dance in London.

I am proud to be working as a Rolfer and strive to create a professional, caring and therapeutic experience for all who come through my door'

In addition to his therapy work Nico also has an entrepreneurial spirit and in 2013 co-founded the Morning Gloryville breakfast rave movement, championing dance, community and connection, which went viral and launched in capital cities across the world.

Rita Shamia

Rita Shamia (Dip BH MAcuC, CNHC) qualified with Distinction in Acupuncture (TCM) and TuiNa therapeutic massage at the highly regarded Body Harmonics Centre in Cheltenham.
She has trained in advanced clinical acupuncture at the University of Shandong in Jinan, China, the Hospital of Traditional Medicine in Hanoi, Vietnam and at the College of Chinese Medicine in London. She also studied Microsystems with the world-renowned John Tindall at the Yuan Centre in Colliers Wood and Master Tung acupuncture with Philip Weeks.
he has completed training in Fertility Acupuncture and supports clients to improve their fertility and also whilst they are undergoing IVF.
Rita teaches acupuncture to TCM students at the College of Chinese Medicine.
Rita is an experienced micro-systems practitioner (auricular, scalp and facial cosmetic acupuncture including facial massage), and also uses cupping, moxa, magnets and electro acupuncture. She is also a TuiNa Master (Chinese medical massage) and can deliver this dynamic form of therapeutic massage independently or combined with acupuncture.
While travelling in the north of Thailand, Rita discovered and trained in Tok Sen, a 5000 year old form of musculo-skeletal, energetic and vibrational body therapy that uses a special wooden hammer and wedge. It’s totally painless and delivers a unique experience for musculo-skeletal issues. There are very few practitioners offering this in the UK.
As a qualified swimming instructor, Rita also supports clients using an eclectic approach to swimming and water therapy.
Rita believes in offering her clients a genuinely holistic approach to their health using a variety of therapeutic tools. She is committed to increasing her knowledge through continuous professional development travelling to Asia, working in traditional medicine hospitals and attending clinical workshops and advanced courses to support her clients with the best possible healthcare.

Rita offers a range of oriental therapies that complement each other but can also be delivered as standalone treatments.

  • Body Acupuncture

Effective for musculo-skeletal conditions (Rita has a particular interest in spinal acupuncture) stress, emotional health, women's healthcare, chronic pain, digestive/gastrointestinal problems, migraine, insomnia, fatigue, eczema, asthma and bronchitis. However, sometimes clients simply feel below par, perhaps vulnerable to colds and viruses, or lacking in energy or motivation, but can't quite pinpoint what's wrong. This is where acupuncture can make a real difference.

  • Auricular acupuncture

Particularly effective for stress and in treating addictions to nicotine, alcohol, drugs, and sugar. It supports weight loss and is now used by the American military for PTSD. A protocol of just 5 tiny needles take a minute to put in and stay for half an hour, making it an ideal treatment for busy people. You stay clothed and seated throughout and relax while the needles do their work.

  • Scalp acupuncture

This relatively new form of acupuncture is renowned for treating neurological and conditions including stroke, multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injury. However, this micro system can also be used for many other conditions.

  • Facial cosmetic acupuncture

The natural facelift is a wonderful, toxin free alternative to invasive surgical treatments, promoting collagen, reducing lines, toning and enhancing facial contours. This is combined with a relaxing facial rejuvenation massage and requires a block of six treatments.

  • TuiNa Chinese remedial massage

TuiNa is a dynamic and powerful remedial ‘massage’ more akin to osteopathy or physiotherapy, that massage, and is used to treat a variety of health issues as well as being very effective for musculo-skeletal conditions such as neck and back pain, whiplash, sciatica, knee pain and frozen shoulder. A TuiNa treatment typically happens whilst the person is still clothed, usually on the couch but sometimes seated depending on the condition. It is delivered as a stand-alone treatment or to complement acupuncture.

  • Tok Sen Thai Tapping Therapy

An ancient Northern Thai energetic and vibrational musculo-skeletal therapy. Tok Sen is a rhythmic method of tapping using a special wooden hammer and wedge (called a 'Limb' and 'Khone') combined with Thai acu-points that creates a healing vibration working deeply through the fascia and muscles in the body. It’s totally pain-free and incredibly effective in relaxing body and mind, and reducing musculo-skeletal pain and tension.

Susan Woodward

  • Nurtitional Therapy

I am a fully qualified Nutritional Therapist trained in the principles of Functional Medicine. I studied at the College of Naturopathic Medicine for 3 years. My passion for nutrition developed after Chronic Fatigue Syndrome left me struggling for many years with a range of debilitating health issues and Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine were critical payers in my healing journey.

Disease and ill health occur when the body is out of balance. Nutritional Therapy seeks to restore that balance by addressing the root cause of symptoms and illness via support of our body’s biochemical processes. From a cellular level upwards, our body requires certain nutrients, in specific ratios, to function properly. If we have developed nutritional imbalances and/or deficiencies then over time these processes may break down and result in symptoms, illness and, ultimately, chronic disease states

Everything we eat/drink is an opportunity to nourish and repair our body. However, those of us following a typical western diet are often making food choices that burden and stress our bodies. Correcting our eating habits, identifying nutritional imbalances and making the right food choices now can restore health and set you on the right path for a healthy future.
I have a particular interest in supporting:

  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, ME, Fibromyalgia
  • Adrenal Fatigue
  • Thyroid Dysfunction
  • Immune Health
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Digestive issues
  • Blood Sugar Balancing: Pre-Diabetics, Type 1 & 2 Diabetics
  • Weight Management
  • Optimal Energy/Health

Vanessa Alves

I look at the body as a whole (holistically) and examine possible root causes by looking at how the different systems of the body work together and impact each other. This allows me to get to the root problem and tailor a plan that is unique to you. The person is treated not the disease.
If/when necessary I can advise for and provide functional testing (e.g. food intolerance and/or allergy testing, comprehensive stool analysis and parasitology, adrenal stress profile etc). I am registered and work with reputable laboratories (CNS, Genova Diagnostics)

I have a particular interest in digestive health problems such as:

  • IBS
  • Constipation
  • Bloating
  • Ulcers
  • Reflux

The initial consultation will last between an hour to an hour and a half. I will ask you questions about your body, diet, family history and any medication or supplements you are currently taking. I will ask you information on all aspects or your health and lifestyle. I will then e-mail you your plan 1 day later (if not given to you on the day of our appointment).

I am registered with the Naturopathic Nutrition Association and registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council. I am also fully insured.

Reiki is the Japanese word for "Universal life energy". It helps people to move towards balance and wholeness. It's a Japanese healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes the natural healing processes of the body and restores physical and emotional well-being.
It's a simple, natural and safe method of healing and self-improvement that everyone can use.
The method of receiving Reiki is simple. The Recipient remains clothed and lies on a couch or sits on a chair and relaxes. The practitioner gently places their hands in a series of non-intrusive positions on or near the body. There is no massage or manipulation and the whole person is treated not just a specific area. You may or may not feel sensations. The sessions can take from 45 minutes to an hour depending on the person's needs.
The benefits of Reiki may include deep relaxation, calmness and a peaceful sense of well-being. Some people feel sensations of heat, tingling or see colours, whist others can have an emotional response, indicating that shifts are taking place, allowing harmony to be restored.

A 1 hour session is £50 and 45 minutes is £40.

I'm at the Haelan Clinic on the second Tuesday of the month from 11am until 2pm but I am available on request on other days and times. I am also available to travel to your home or office.

If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to contact me on 07956 581 949, via email vanessacalves@hotmail.co.uk or through Facebook fb@vanessacalves.holisticnutrition

Yvette Marks

Having been interested in esoteric subjects for as long as she can remember, Yvette has gone on to study Psychology, Astrology, the Tarot, the Runes and various systems of energetic healing such as Reiki, TAT basics and Theta Healing.

She has completed the Sacred Trust's Three Year Professional Shamanic Practitioner’s training, is an initiate of the Path of Pollen shamanic tradition and has embarked upon a new three year shamanic training programme with the Sacred Trust called the Return of the Pythoness.

For Yvette, personally, it is the practice of shamanic techniques which has brought everything together and which has lit everything up. The focus of her work is on healing and on using all the tools she has learned to help bring magical and lasting changes into our lives. If there is anyone out there who is struggling and who could be helped by receiving shamanic healing, she really wants them to know that this type of healing exists.

Whoever you are and whatever your sacred dream is (that goal of yours which is untainted by ego or by the expectations of others) she wants you to be helped to achieve this. It doesn't matter what this dream is, whether it's to sweep the streets or to provide healthcare for others, she believes that, for every step that anyone takes towards fulfilling their dream, the rest of us reaps the rewards (provided, of course, that the step's taken without hindering the dreams of others.)
She is also the author of the book, Tales of an Aspiring Shaman

What to Expect
There are all sorts of reasons to come for a session. Some people come out of pure curiosity, others may come because they have a problem they would like to solve or a decision to make while others come for healing, be it physical or emotional.
It is you, the client, who sets the wheels of healing and of self-growth in motion through setting the intention to heal…through coming for healing.
At times, the healing and the events that follow seem miraculous and, at other times, the healing unfolds in a far more subtle way. The most important measure of success is the evolution over time from possibly feeling depleted to feeling as though you are coping or from possibly coping to feeling as though you are thriving, Of feeling connected, filled with energy, able to make decisions and to meet life’s appointments.
The time to integrate each session into your life is different for each client and for each session and it is always up to you to determine if and when you would like your next session to be.
In the same way, through your own healing process, it is possible that you will want to work with other specialists and these sessions are not intended to replace the services that these other specialists provide. For example, you can continue to see your doctor, herbalist, nutritionist and so forth while you see Yvette. On rare occasions, it may be possible that it isn't the right time for Yvette to work with you, in which case, she will always seek to explain why and to find an alternative to refer you to.
The work stands on the shoulders of the thousands and thousands who have gone before us; from the ancient Egyptians who suggested that all knowing comes from within and that, by knowing ourselves, we can even know the gods; to the Zulu people of Africa who say, 'if the future doesn’t come toward you, you have to go fetch it' ...and many, many others besides. Yet, it is also ever new and Yvette continues to be humbled, awed and enthused by the ways in which the healing stories unfold.
Within the sessions, Yvette seeks to share some of the following benefits with her clients:

Engaging with the wonder of knowing that there is more to this world than that which we can see, feel and touch;
A rich exploration of the self, shining a light on the strengths and talents which so often go unnoticed and upon the gifts and opportunities which lie hidden beneath the more challenging parts of ourselves;
Reinterpreting the stories of past, present and future and of self and others in a way which supports growth, choice and freedom;
Setting goals and ambitions that flow from the heart's desire;
Actively relating and responding to the moods and events of life in a way which supports whatever it is that you are trying to achieve;
An ongoing and deepening sense of empowerment, vitality and purpose.

To read the testimonials from other clients, please visit www.yvettemarks.co.uk

Price: £85 per hour. Payments can be made in cash, by bank transfer or via paypal. There are no debit or credit card facilities.

Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel a session, please provide as much notice as possible. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will not be refunded.
To book a session, or for an informal chat to find out more, please send me an email.
